  • Beskrivelse: Aris Sioutis is a newly-appointed teacher, who takes on responsibility for grade six in a public elementary school in Athens. Even from the first day, his attention is caught by Lefteris, an exceptionally weak student who is bordering on illiteracy. Gradually, the teacher discovers that Lefteris is simply a sensitive child and is not retarded in any way; he has, in fact, managed to put his own bike together all by himself. Despite the contrary opinion held by both the school principal and the general public, he decides to help him. He begins by offering him private tutoring, teaching him mathematical equations and reading comprehension, and he makes him the new treasurer for the school’s book exhibition. One day, Aris is sick, and the former teacher takes over his class. Lefteris once again becomes the laughing stock of his classmates. In desperation, he runs away from home and heads for the village of Platamona, where his grandfather lives. Aris finds him on the beach and tries again to boost his confidence.
